Mopelola Lamond


Mopelola is a vivacious woman of substance, someone to be heard and reckoned with. She has transcended social stereotypes, racial, cultural barriers and gone against the grain of general expectation to achieve great success. From humble beginnings and despite the odds, Mopelola went on to demonstrate her academic pedigree and personal resolve by earning a 1st class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering (University of Aberdeen). In pursuit of professional excellence, she returned and earned a distinction in the Masters in Business Administration programme at the Robert Gordon University, this was achieved whilst working full time and raising her twin children as a single mother - they are notably her pride and joy. 

She is recognised as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and has bagged 15years of experience working in the Oil and Gas industry in a varied number of Engineering roles. The culmination of technical and people skills developed has led to her current role as Project Services Manager in BP, where she is responsible for the implementation of the project management systems and controls that are required to support the effective execution of high value projects offshore in the North Sea.  Mopelola also holds the following position; member of Lions club international with the vision to serve humanity, ex-director of Multi Ethnic Aberdeen Limited, a charity which promotes cultural diversity, She is passionate about people and works tirelessly to help many to i/forge forward through a crucible, ii/explore life opportunities and alternative career paths and iii/realise their full potential. To better enable her flourish in this area, she's joined the Institute of Counselling and through the Open University programme gaining insights to Christian Counselling.
