Carolyn Adams


Carolyn Adams is the Training and Development Manager at Birmingham Municipal Court, where she and her team assess training needs and develop policies and procedures for Pretrial Services Programs. Ms. Adams has been with the City of Birmingham since 2008 and served as the Director of Social Services for the Birmingham Police Department from 2008-2016. Her responsibilities included supervision of staff, program development and management and ensuring best practices procedures were conducted to provide effective and efficient service delivery. 

Ms. Adams has a Masters in Counseling and Masters in Social Work and over 20 years of direct practice experience, training and development and program management. Ms. Adams is a board member Alabama Association of Violence Prevention Program (AAVIP) and a member of the Association for Talent Development (ATD), National Association of Profession Women, and National Association Social Workers. Ms. Adams is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Certified EQ-I 2.0/EQ 360 Emotional Intelligence,Certified Myers Briggs Practitioner, Instructor State of Alabama Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission, Victims Assistance Instructor, Domestic Violence Instructor and Continuing Education Instructor for Jacksonville State University.
